On March 1st, WestLB hosted its first analyst meeting.
Dr. Thomas Fischer (CEO) and Dr. Hans-Jürgen Niehaus (CFO) of WestLB gave an insight into our new business strategy and the WestLB AG 2004 preliminary results.

During a roadshow in North America, WestLB outlined its strategy to investors in New York City, Chicago and Boston. Initial successes in implementing the new business model were the focal point of the presentation. The considerable potential afforded by WestLB´s growth-oriented business model is driven by the intensified cooperation with the savings banks.

The expiry of the state guarantees (institutional liability and guarantor liability) in July 2005 will create a new competitive situation in the German banking sector.
