New Networks + The Cloud = New Markets?
Future web services require deployment of modern broadband infrastructure
such as fibre and LTE to meet increasing demand. New networks are becoming
'smart conduits' for business as opposed to 'dumb' pipes.
This represents both challenges and opportunities alike for operators, ISPs,
MSPs and other players such as payment service providers.
After an important frequency auction for mobile services we now expect more
clarity on the regulatory framework to drive fibre-optic investments. Both topics
also rank highly on the EU's 'Digital Agenda'.
